American Military Struck a 'Big Plant' in the Venezuelan nation, Trump Claimed Without Offering Specifics.

Ex-President Trump has claimed that US military assets struck a "major plant" in Venezuela last week. Yet, the ex-leader withheld information about the precise nature or site of the target, and officials have issued no additional comment from his administration.

Vague Remarks Made In a Talk Interview

"US forces just eliminated – I'm not sure if you saw – they have a big plant, where the ships depart from. The other night, we took it out. So we struck them with significant force," Trump reportedly informed GOP supporter and businessman John Catsimatidis on Friday.

Possible Significance of a Verified Strike

Should a American military action is confirmed, it would constitute the initial land strike since the US Department of Defense initiated a expansion of American military presence in the region to disrupt narco-trafficking operations that the former administration claims operate under the orders of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

This stated purpose of the military buildup has since morphed into a quarantine aimed at stopping the country's oil exports.

Online Video and Administration Statements

Trump has for some time indicated that American military units are poised to expand the operations by attacking targets inside Venezuela, a tactic that would in theory require legislative approval.

Video footage posted online on 24 December purportedly showed an detonation said to be from an industrial zone in Zulia state. Yet, the footage or the facility has not been independently verified.

An administration official reportedly told a news network that the president was describing a drug facility in his comments.

Response and Ongoing Military Situation

The Caracas administration has issued no statement on the event the former president referenced. Furthermore, there have been no verified accounts from Venezuela about it.

The presence of American forces in the area – a stance some have referred to as a sea blockade – marks the largest naval operation of Trump's presidency.

Sources have refrained from labeling the operation as a full blockade, but have confirmed that about 15,000 personnel are stationed across the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, including a aircraft carrier group, F-35 aircraft, and Coast Guard cutters to enforce existing sanctions.
